Headcounter

A simple iOS app for tracking headcounts

Privacy Policy

Headcounter — iOS App

Headcounter is designed to respect your privacy. This policy explains what data exists, where it lives, and what happens when you use the app's sharing feature.

Data stored on your device

All headcount entries, area names, counts, dates, confirmation records, and signatures are stored locally on your device using iOS system storage (UserDefaults). This data never leaves your device except through iCloud sync if you choose to enable it (see below).

iCloud sync (optional)

If you enable iCloud in the app's settings, your headcount history and area data are synced to your personal iCloud account using Apple's iCloud Key-Value Store and iCloud Drive. This data is stored in your own iCloud account — the developer has no access to it. Apple's iCloud privacy policy applies.

Share feature

When you share a headcount entry via iMessage, the app constructs a URL containing the entry's count, area names, and date encoded as Base64. This URL points to a hosted web page (head-counter-share.vercel.app) that renders a rich link preview for the message bubble.

When this URL is fetched (by iMessage on the sender's or recipient's device to render the preview), Vercel's servers process the request. Like any web server, Vercel may retain standard access logs that include the request URL and IP address. The developer does not access, store, or use this data — it is subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

The share payload does not include confirmation names or signatures — only counts, area names, and the date.

Data we do not collect

Children's privacy

The app does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, an updated version will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of any updates.
